Kaziah Hancock is a fiercely independent goat rancher in Utah.

She was born into a polygamist sect in the Arizona desert and at the age of 15 was forced to marry a man she detested.  Trapped in polygamy she kept dreams of owning her own ranch and becoming an artist.

Finally able to break free of the sect, Kaziah gained her freedom and achieved her dreams.  She built her ranch from the ground up, had 50 cherished goats, and became a sought after portraitist.  Her dream was complete.

Then came the war.

Kaziah heard about the first soldier from Utah to be killed in Iraq.

American military were dying to protect freedom.

Having struggled to gain freedom Kaziah felt that sacrifice, and wanted to help the families of the fallen

She has painted over 1700 portraits and given them to the families as a gift.  With three other artists her non-profit Project Compassion has given over 3500 portraits.
